BOOKtopia, the West Vancouver Children’s Literature Festival, is an annual festival intended to promote literacy, celebrate language arts and cultivate creative thought in West Vancouver. BOOKtopia offers a series of events for preschool, elementary and secondary school students at the Kay Meek Centre and the West Vancouver Memorial Library. Events include author visits, literacy and illustration workshops, movie events and a puppet show.

If so BOOKtopia wants you to participate in Feels So Write
Feels So Write event is an open mic night for West Vancouver students in Grades
9-12 to share an original piece of writing. Co-organized by Rockridge Secondary
School creative writing students and the West Vancouver Memorial Library Youth
Department, Feels So Write is a positive, welcoming environment for young
writers to share their talents in front of an audience. Writers can share
anything including a:
- Poem
- Monologue
- Song lyrics
- Excerpt from a short story or novel
Writers will have a maximum of three minutes to read from their original work and must register by Monday, April 30 at midnight. Space is limited so sign up now!
